Buckley, Alan Lloyd Simi Valley 59
Alan Buckley, 59, died at the scene in Chatsworth, but his family didnt find out until early Saturday morning, said his son, Jeff Buckley. Alan Buckley was the son of a Union Pacific railroad worker and a train buff since childhood, his son said. He was on board the day the service opened in 1992, and just about every day since then, he took the train to his job in Burbank, where he was a mechanic for the city. Metrolink was his thing, Jeff Buckley said. He knew the conductors, he rode up front with them. He even took the train on weekends. … For him to pass away this way is irony, I guess. He just loved trains. Buckley, who would have turned 60 next week, was a man of long-term commitments. He worked for the city of Burbank for 32 years and was married for 38 years. He leaves two children and five grandchildren.
