Pompel, Howard Barry | Moorpark | 69 |
| On the night before he died, Howard Pompel of Moorpark played in his weekly Scrabble game at the city senior center, said his stepdaughter, Annette Conway. "He loved Scrabble, he played in a competitive game every Thursday night," she said. "He just loved people; he loved all kinds of people. He'd talk to anybody about anything, and he just had a smile on his face all the time." Pompel, 69, sold insurance to employees of the city of Los Angeles. He took Metrolink to work every day, but he was usually on a later train than the one he took on Friday. | |||
